Why teardown and haul-away belong together
The usual way to do this is hire a demolition guy, then rent a dumpster, then wait for the dumpster company to collect it. Three vendors, three schedules, and a container sitting on your driveway for a week.
We do both halves in one visit. The structure comes down and leaves with us the same day.
What we look at before quoting
Access matters most. A deck behind a fence with no gate wide enough for a wheelbarrow is a different job than one we can back up to.
After that: what it's built from, whether there are footings set in concrete, and what's underneath. Send photos from a few angles, including the sides, and we can usually price it without a site visit.
Permits and property lines
Some Maryland counties require a permit for demolition above a certain size, and fences on a property line can involve your neighbor. Check with your county before scheduling — a quick call to the permits office saves a lot of grief.
We'll tell you honestly if we think a job needs a permit or a licensed contractor rather than us. Structures with utilities running through them, anything attached to the house, and anything with suspected asbestos need a specialist.

Do you take the concrete footings too?
Usually yes. Post footings set in concrete come out with the structure. Large slabs are priced separately because of the weight.
Will you damage my lawn?
We work off plywood and mats where we need to roll heavy loads. Some wear is unavoidable on soft ground, and we'll flag it before starting.
Can you demo something attached to the house?
That's usually a job for a licensed contractor, since it involves the structure and sometimes utilities. We'll tell you straight if your job falls in that category.
