The sectional problem
Sectionals get into houses in pieces and then get bolted together, which is why so many of them are impossible to remove intact. Add a turn at the bottom of a rowhome staircase and you have a genuine puzzle.
We carry tools for exactly this. Taking a couch apart to get it out is normal work, not an upcharge.
Donation first, when it makes sense
If a piece is clean, structurally sound, and free of pet damage, we'll try to route it to donation instead of the transfer station. Upholstered furniture in good shape is genuinely useful to someone.
Be aware that most charities won't accept stained, torn, or smoke-damaged upholstery, and none of them take mattresses. If a piece is past saving, it's better to know now than to wait two weeks for a pickup that gets refused.

Usually. If it won't come down intact, we disassemble it. That's included, not extra.

When it's in good enough condition, yes. We'll tell you honestly if we think a piece won't be accepted.
